Kansa Vatki Foot Massage

Practised in India for centuries, Kansa Vatki Foot Massage is a massage that follows the tried and trusted Ayurvedic tradition. Ayurvedic medicine is the traditional form of medicine used in India and heavily influences modern medicine. Helping to balance the whole body, the treatment focuses on the lower legs and feet.

The treatment involves being massaged with a metal bowl called the Kansa Vatki. The Kansa Vatki is made up of three different metals: copper, zinc and tin. Copper is used to help reduce pain, inflammation and arthritis, Zinc is considered to be helpful in digestion, relieving headaches and insomnia. Use of oils such as coconut or ghee is also essential to the treatment.

The feet and lower limbs are worked on with the Kansa Vatki, with particular emphasis on the marma points. Marma points are vital energy centres that are located throughout the body and have a huge impact on our health and wellbeing. Focusing on these points, may help to detoxify, energise and rejuvenate. A session is used to draw out excess heat and often leaves the entire body refreshed and relaxed.
